For anyone staying in Morzine or the surrounding area the local bus service is a great way to get around the resort, whether going to the shops, heading to the slopes for skiing or if you need to get to town from the villages further away.
Although there is no real night bus service, there is plenty on offer throughout the day.
Baladaulps Bus Service
This is a bus that services the villages dotted along the Valleed'Aulps. There are plenty of small villages that, without this service, would be quite isolated, particularly for people who don't have a car. The Baladaulp bus goes from Bioge, passing through a number of villages such as Seytroux, Jotty, St Jean d'Aulps, Le Biot and Essert Romand before getting to Montriond and Morzine. Once there it connects with the free bus routes that go to Ardent and Prodains as well. There is also a service going from the Col Du Corbier into Montriond and Morzine. These bus services also go up to Les Gets so are a good way to get between the two without a car. This service costs one euro fifty each way but is half price for children under ten. The service runs throughout the winter and summer seasons. For anyone needing to travel from the valley out of season there is also the Ligne 91 bus.
Free Bus Services In Morzine
During the winter and summer seasons there are a number of free bus services to get around town and get to the ski lifts. These services run from the morning till the early evening. The Prodains bus runs till about 9:30 PM. There is no proper night service, so anyone planning a late night has to either arrange a taxi or walk home.
The free bus service includes routes that cover the furthest parts of Morzine and provide access to the high street, the Pleney lift, the Prodains lift, the Ardent lift and the Nyon lift. The Ardent bus also goes through Montriond and past the lake.
The service is more limited in summer, although even the stripped down service provides good access. The Ardent bus service finishes at the lake instead of Ardent in summer, as the Ardent lift is not open and the lake is a much more popular destination for holidaymakers. One significant change is that during winter the E bus heads to the Lac Mines DíOr in summer.
